High School Academic Program

Dallas Lutheran School offers three diplomas: Regular, College Prep, and Distinguished. Basic requirements follow Texas Education Agency guidelines and are enhanced by supplement course work added by the faculty of Dallas Lutheran School. A complete copy of requirements for diplomas is available upon request.

Middle School Academic Program

This course of study follows state requirements. Additions made by Dallas Lutheran School which enhance this program include religious studies, study skills, computer keyboarding, computer science, band, choir, Spanish, and art.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Interscholastic sports include football (7-12), soccer (9-12), girls volleyball (7-12), boys and girls basketball (7-12), boys baseball (7-12), girls softball (7-12), football (7-12), cross-country (7-12), golf (9-12), and cheerleading (9-12). In addition, students participate in school play productions (7-12), National Honor Society (10-12), National Junior Honor Society (7-9), Student Council (7-12), Spanish Honor Society (11-12), Aviation Club (9-12), Color Guard (9-12), GROWL staff, and serve on Student Council (7-12). Other activities include band, art, yearbook, Junior State of America, and Spanish club.

Students

Dallas Lutheran School students average 1+ 1/2 years above grade level on the nationally normed Iowa Basic Test of Skills and 100 points higher than the state average on the Scholastic Aptitude Test, used nationwide as a standard for entrance into college. Dallas Lutheran School graduates have been accepted into almost every major college and university.

Teachers

All Dallas Lutheran School faculty members are caring, competent and committed Christians. Most Dallas Lutheran School teachers are products of the highly regarded teacher training programs of our Lutheran colleges. All teachers are certified (or working toward certification) by the Texas Education Agency.
